With its chunky proportions this Butterfly Board could serve as a mini butcher's block, sitting on your worktop, always available for you to slice a piece of cake, butter a hot crumpet or to help you prepare a feast.
This Butterfly Board started its life as part of an Apple Tree and the colour, hues and grain of this Apple Wood are really quite a marvel!
The Butterfly Boards get their name from the Maple & Walnut 'butterflies' which are hand cut and chiseled into the naturally occurring tears creating a delicate feature and highlighting the natural beauty of the grain and pattern of the Apple Wood.
Butterfly joints are decorative but also highly functional as they lock the board in place, strengthening the entire piece.
Each board is a one-off and as such is entirely unique and one-of-a-kind.

Please note: As the Butterfly Boards are handcrafted from a natural material there are variations and imperfections which add to their individual charm and character. Over time knife marks may appear in the surface. I recommend that the boards are dried after washing and that chopping board wax is applied every 12 months.
